The World Series is over; Yankees won. It was exciting, but the excitement wears off quickly. After the parade, we move on to the next interest. But, still, I glad the season was so good, and the outcome was terrific.
This past weekend was the annual convention of the National Federation of the Blind of Connecticut. I was on the planning committee, and I must admit it was a very good convention. There was a lot of energy this year. The panels were good, and everyone seemed to have a good time. The banquet was nice, the food was good, and the national rep did a fine job. I think the banquet could have been a little more energized, but we'll work on that next year.
The economy certainly seemed to affect our raffles. I don't think we sold as many chances as we normally do, which means less funding for the affiliate.
The Washington Seminar is coming up during the first few days of February. Anyone who hasn't been to one really should try to go. It is a fabulous learning experience.
